LENA HEADEY recently completed production on the upcoming season of “Wednesday” for Netflix starring Jenna Ortega and Red, White, and Royal Wedding, the highly anticipated sequel to hit rom-com Red, White and Royal Blue for Amazon MGM Studios. She can most recently be seen starring in Kurt Sutter’s return to dramatic television with the Western epic “The Abandons,” now streaming on Netflix, and will next appear in the crime thriller “Normal” alongside Bob Odenkirk and the currently untitled Netflix detective series from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker.
She recently appeared in the MGM+ sci-fi odyssey Beacon 23 opposite Stephan James– a series she also executive produced under her first look deal with Boat Rocker Studios. Headey made her feature directorial debut with The Trap based on her BAFTA Award nominated short film of the same time. The feature, which stars Michelle Fairley and James Nelson-Joyce debuted at the Austin Film Festival to high acclaim.
She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Cersei Lannister in HBO’s epic television series “Game of Thrones” for which she was nominated for five Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Other film credits include Divine Blood, DC League of Super-Pets, Gunpowder Milkshake, 9 Bullets, Twist, Fighting With My Family, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Thumper, Zipper, Low Down, The Purge, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Adventurer: The Curse of The Midas Box, Dredd, The Brother’s Grimm and “Queen Gorgo” in 300 and 300: The Rise of an Empire.
